Mankato, Minn. — #23 Minnesota State wrapped up its first home stand of the season by defeating the University of Nebraska-Omaha in a three-game match by the scores of 30-28, 30-22 and 32-30. This brings the Mavericks record to 12-1 on the season and 2-0 in the North Central Conference. This is Minnesota State's best start since 1993 when they started the year 16-0.
Freshman outside hitter Amanda Beekman had a solid offensive night as she tallied 20 kills and 14 digs. Junior outside hitter Ashley Nachreiner had a good offensive night as she posted 13 kills, as well as 14 digs to match her season high.
Senior outside hitter Dana Ostertag tallied 17 digs while sophomore libero Kelly Sandstrom tallied 15 digs. Senior setter Stef Sandstrom tallied 41 assists and 10 digs.
The Mavericks will travel to Marshall, Minn. to take on #7 Southwest Minnesota State on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
