Wrestling Jason Rhoten Three-Time Pick Rhoten Highlights Men’s Academic All-NCC At-Large Team Three-time NCC selection Jason Rhoten highlights the 13-member 2007-2008 North Central Conference Men’s All-Academic At-Large team announced today. Three other team members, North Dakota’s John Fitzgerald, St. Cloud State’s Kevin Luckens and Minnesota State’s Marty Wahle, have been named to the team for the second time. The team was selected by a vote of the league’s sports information directors. The coaches also selected Augustana’s Ty Copsey as the Freshman of the Year and Minnesota State’s Jim Makovsky as the Coach of the Year. Commissioner’s Academic Wrestling Honor Roll Named The NCC Commisssioner’s Academic Honor Roll for wrestling has been compiled and 14 student-athletes have acheived the honor. To qualify student-athletes must have a minimum 3.20 grade point average, have completed at least two semesters at their current school and have competed against outside competition. Minnesota State Captures NCAA II North Central Region Wrestling Title Minnesota State University collected seven individual titles and claimed the 2007 NCAA Division II North Central Regional wrestling title on Sunday with 146.5 points to outdistance the eight-team field at Alex Nemzek Hall in Moorhead.
